Shearwater Geoservices Holding AS
As of 31.12.2019 RASMUSSENGRUPPEN AS owned 63.9% of the share capital in Shearwater Geoservices Holding AS (GC Rieber Shipping 19.6% and Schlumberger 15.0%).
Shearwater has its head office in Bergen, and is an integrated supplier of marine geophysical services, mainly comprising collection and processing of seismic data for oil-, gas- and multiclient-companies all over the world. In June 2019, an agreement between Shearwater, CGG SAS and Eidesvik Offshore ASA was announced, in which Shearwater acquires seven seismic vessels with sufficient streamer equipment to equip five of these vessels. In addition, CGG committed to lease a minimum of two seismic vessels each year for 5 years to its multiclient-operation. The agreement was completed 08.01.2020, and RASMUSSENGRUPPEN’s ownership was reduced to 61.5% (GC Rieber Shipping 18.9%, Schlumberger 14.4% and Eidesvik 3.8%). Today, Shearwater holds a total of 21 seismic vessels, and is clearly the world’s largest seismic company measured in number of vessels owned. The company has also a processing division in Tunbridge Wells, U.K. and owns proprietary streamer technology as well as a factory for production of streamers in Penang, Malaysia.
